Attention, anybody who ever tripped the light fantastic at La Monica Ballroom on the Santa Monica Pier: Pier officials are seeking 100"alumni" of the famed ballroom, which had its heyday during the swing band era, to take a turn on the re-created dance floor from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 23.
The Santa Monica Pier , the symbolic western end of Route 66, will hold concerts July 23 to pay tribute to its former La Monica Ballroom and celebrate the pier's centennial, according to a news release .
