Watching director Sam Raimi return to the horror genre he redefined is like rediscovering water in August.

Musicians can be an adventurous, restless bunch. When it comes to downtime, many musicians either go stir crazy or resort to making more music outside of their regular gig.

Chart-topping Montreal pop-punk band Simple Plan takes a turn toward maturity on their third and tellingly self-titled album, due in stores Feb.

If you thought pop-punk was a passing phase, think again. Sure, Simple Plan and Good Charlotte have disappeared from the music scene and the memories of most listeners, but that doesn't mean the genre isn't still going strong.

At first glance, Simple Plan's teaming here with A-list producers Max Martin and Nate "Danja" Hills appears to be a move born from desperation.
