Mark Lanegan has been the voice of many musical projects over the years - from grunge originals Screaming Trees and as an honorary member of Queens of the Stone Age, to collaborations with Greg Dulli as Gutter Twins and a prolific solo artist.

It should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with his music that Mark Lanegan is a man of relatively few words.

Ex-Screaming Trees vocalist Lanegan has collaborated with the likes of Isobel Campbell, Greg Dulli and Soulsavers in recent years.

Unlike a few of his early '90s Seattle contemporaries who made tons of money, erstwhile Screaming Trees vocalist Mark Lanegan has not died, put out shitty records, or made a self-deprecating cameo on Portlandia .

Mark Lanegan is best known as either the frontman to the rock band Screaming Trees or for his solo blues albums that began with The Winding Sheet and perfected on Whiskey for the Holy Ghost .
