Now here's an unusual idea for a record: Northumberland folk troupe the Unthanks , led by Becky and Rachel Unthank , cover a collection of songs by Robert Wyatt and Antony Hegarty .

The Unthanks are finishing a year that saw two album releases, a collaboration with a brass band, live film scoring and the birth of a baby by going on a tour in which they swap their usual repertoire of Northumbrian social history for a concert of two halves.

The second Unthanks album of the year is a thoughtful, delicate and bravely original tribute to two fine contemporary songwriters, and a further reminder of the role that pianist, arranger and producer Adrian McNally is playing in shaping the music of his wife Rachel and her sister Becky.
