Rita Wilson was in front of the camera along with future husband Tom Hanks in the early '80s TV series "Bosom Buddies." Night before last, however, she was on stage, in front of an audience, performing a very different sort of role .

Rita Wilson's filmography is peppered with pop music, including "Raise Your Voice" and the big-screen version of "Mamma Mia!" . Next week the L.A. native takes the mike herself with "AM/FM," an album featuring interpretations of 14 hits from the 1960s and '70s. Wilson spoke with Pop & Hiss ahead of her gig Friday night at the Troubadour.

Rita Wilson will be making her area debut Tuesday night at Anthology as a musical headliner, but it won't be the first time she has performed here.
