More acts have been added to this year's Download Festival. Joining Black Sabbath, Metallica, Soundgarden and The Prodigy will be Megadeth, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy, Steel Panther, Billy Talent, Rise Against, As I Lay Dying, Black Label Society, Terrorvision and Five Finger Death Punch.

A Day to Remember and The Menzingers will open a show for Rise Against at the Bryce Jordan Center.

After more than a year of trying to get a punk rock band at the Bryce Jordan Center, Sales and Marketing Director Bernie Punt has succeeded.

They go by the name Rise Against, but the Chicago-based hardcore punk band has really been rising up from its 1999 debut.

Mac Miller performs at Stage AE in December. MTV will feature Mac, Wiz Khalifa and the Pittsburgh rap scene all next week.

Rise Against at the Austin Music Hall . Can't really recommend the room, in which sound goes to echo and die, but the headliner can deliver muscular, anthemic rootsy punk.
