The classic mafia film Goodfellas is coming to cable TV as a weekly series. The movie was, and the forthcoming television show will be based on the book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi.

AMC may be adding Goodfellas to its TV show line up. Deadline reports that the cable network, already home to shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad , has put a series version of Goodfellas into development.

We first heard about the possibility of a Goodfellas TV series in October of 2010, but since then, no more solid details have surfaced.
