Clive Davis and The Recording Academy's legendary pre-Grammy party is always packed with the biggest names in Hollywood.

The Kinks had just finished a tour of Asia when they were rushed into the studio to capitalize on the success of Kinks-Size and their growing popularity. Most of their new album, Kinda Kinks , was recorded within two weeks and released in March 1965 in the U.K. and August in the United States.

The Kinks were formed during 1963 and a year later they were stars in the U.K. and the United States. Original bassist Pater Quaife, drummer Mick Avory, vocalist/rhythm guitarist Ray Davies, and lead guitarist Dave Davies played, wrestled, and fought their way to induction into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990.
