Hay, hay, it's The Monkees . Coming off a very successful 2012 fall tour, The Monkees are making their return to Las Vegas for a show August 10 in the Grand Events Center inside Green Valley Ranch Resort .

He may have been one of the four members of the Monkees , but Peter Tork looked back on his own life with a lot of smiles in his upbeat solo "In This Generation: My Life in the Monkees and So Much More" show that came to San Francisco's Great American Music Hall last Friday.

Back when I was still young enough to be entertained by unrequited love, I routinely kissed Peter Tork good night.

Peter Tork of The Monkees performed a solo show at the Dosey Doe in Houston on May 31. For Examiner, this was a must-see concert due to the desire to get Peter to sign our copy of the Monkees ' Head soundtrack on vinyl.

Peter York comes to the Birchmere on Tuesday with "In This Generation: My Life in the Monkees and So Much More." Whenever "Hey, hey, we're the Monkees" reverberated from TV sets throughout American neighborhoods in 1966, excited youngsters settled themselves before the screen awaiting a half-hour of madcap episodes about four hopeful rock 'n' roll ...
