Frank Review 9/8

About half an hour into the movie, Domhnall Gleeson stares at Michael Fassbender - who's wearing an oblong mask with blank blue eyes, plasticized hair and a slightly surprised, open mouth - and asks the question we're all wondering: "Why do you wear that?" Fest jammed with good, good stuff. Tough TIFF choices Every. Single. Day. @TIFF_NET "Frank's" strangely engaging fun is in great measure due to the agility of Michael Fassbender's physicality, rather than the intensity of his face.

Frankly Speaking...

I'D LIKE TO THINK Mercury Senior Editor Erik Henriksen asked me to review Frank because he knows I'm a fan of author and journalist Jon Ronson , as well as a shameless Anglophile with a decent knowledge of Britpop history - thus making me uniquely qualified to contextually analyze this film.

Weekend Watch: Frank, Sin City: A Dame To Die For, To Be Takei, If I...

When I first heard of the movie Frank , back when it played the SFIFF, I thought it was a pretty insane concept for a movie: Michael Fassbender as the lead singer of an indie band who is always-always-wearing a giant paper mache head? I mean, ridiculous, right? Turns out, yes, it's still kind of ridiculous.
