Frost/Nixon World Premiere at London Film Festival
The World Premiere of the Working Title/Universal film 'Frost/Nixon' will debut at the London Film Festival, according to Screendaily.com. The London Film Festival will commence on October 15-30 and Frost/Nixon will headline the festival on opening day.
Matthew Macfadyen co stars in this "soon to be classic" film (Entertainment Weekly) playing the role of British producer of the now infamous interviews of the time, John Birt.
The Sir David Frost and former president Nixon series of interviews from 1977 are credited as the only "confession" of any wrongdoing by Nixon and considered ground breaking for it's time. Nixon is portrayed by veteran actor Frank Langella whose performance is touted as Oscar worthy, having already won a Tony for his performance on Broadway and the West End. Frost is portrayed by a gripping portrayal from actor Michael Sheen (The Queen) who also portrayed the same character on both the Broadway and West End stages. The screenplay is penned by "The Queen" writer Peter Morgan. The star studded ensemble cast is directed by the infamous Ron Howard.
(Thanks Sharon L for the Entertainment Weekly quote.)
IndieWireMatthew Macfadyen and Phil Glenister had a good laugh as they "snogged" for the paparazzi Tuesday evening at Glamour's "Woman of the Year" Awards, held at the Berkeley Square Gardens on June 3, 2008 in London, England.
It was all in good fun of course, as Matthew was there to support his wife Keeley Hawes who won the award for 'Best TV Actress'. Her co star, 'Ashes to Ashes' star Phil Glenister, presented the award to her that evening.
