Hanover: Doo Wopp, Motown stars shine
'Royalty of Doo Wopp and Stars of Motown,' the latest slate of acts from vintage rock producer Harvey Robbins, pulled into The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts on Southbridge Street Saturday night for a concert that drew close to 500 music fans eager to hear doo wopp groups and proponents of The Motown Sound from the early days of rock.
Motown Records provided the inspiration. Smokey Robinson, Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Supremes, the Temptations - their songs told of black struggle.
