The current owner of the snap is now selling both the negative and copyright of the image at an auction on 20 September in Wiltshire, England.

HAMILTON -- An exhibit on the life of Seward Johnson at the Grounds for Sculpture, which he founded in 1992, has been extended until July 2015, the park announced today. A never-before-seen picture of iconic beauty Marilyn Monroe has been discovered in Los Angeles. The image will be unveiled at intermission of each show during the run of "Goodbye Marilyn: A Love Letter," which will enjoy its world premiere and run in Los Angeles today, September 5 through October 12. "We attempt to see beyond the celebrity and try and capture Marilyn Monroe 's humanity," Michael Phillips , the writer and director of "Goodbye Marilyn," says.
