Sometimes a film comes along that its sole purpose is just to make you laugh. Well, Woody Allen directs Whatever Works set in New York and this film does just that.

Anyone with Allen's compulsive work ethic is bound to produce as many hits as misses; in recent years, the former include the sly Hitchcock homage 'Match Point' and the uneven but ultimately pleasing 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona.'
