Ex- METALLICA guitarist and current MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine joined his former bandmates on stage on December 10, 2011 for the fourth and final intimate show at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of METALLICA 's week-long celebration of its 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.

The Oakland Metro Opera House was ground zero for NorCal Thrash metal act Exodus last weekend where they celebrated the life of the band's original vocalist Paul Baloff with a tribute show dubbed "Bonded By Baloff." Punctuating the event was an appearance on stage by former bandmate Kirk Hammett , who now plays with a little band called Metallica .

Held on the 23 and 24 June, Arctic Monkeys, The Gaslight Anthem and Modest Mouse are already booked to play.
