To borrow a phrase the legendary American cinema masterpiece Anchorman : In the 1930s, Chicago-based writer Floyd Gibbons was the balls . The one-eyed war hero embodied the rough, tough American male image and dazzled the public with his syndicated stories in newspapers, radio and on television, which stem from his role as a war correspondent for the Chicago Tribune ; he even wrote one of the earliest biographies of the infamous Red Baron.
