Another Jason Reitman movie is getting prime awards-season placement. Paramount said the Juno and Up In The Air director's latest, Labor Day , will open in limited release December 25 this year before expanding January 10 and going wide January 31.

NBC has begun piling on the series orders for the 2013-14 campaign, picking up three new comedies and a pair of dramas.

The former "The King of Queens" star has a development deal with the network, and ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee asked her to be part of the comedy, which debuted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The comedy introduces the Shea family, whose patriarch Tony suffers a heart attack and realizes he can no longer handle the family handyman business alone.

Family Tools is supposed to be a comedy, I think. It was hard to tell, because it's not funny.

ABC'S SECOND handyman sitcom, "The Family Tools," traps some nice performances in a tiresome script.
