It was a little more than 20 years ago that the Indigo Girls independently released their debut album, Strange Fire .

L ike countless musicians before her, Emily Saliers has always spoken her mind. "I just think it's the nature of singer-songwriters," said Saliers, one half of the folk rock duo Indigo Girls.
