Claiming she didn't want to her son to resent her for putting her post-baby body before his health, Hilary Duff wasn't ready to push her fitness limits until enough time had passed.

Actress/singer Hilary Duff turned to boxing to help her shed the pounds after diet and exercise failed to get her back in shape following the birth of her first child.

The 32-year-old actress-and-singer has 14-month-old Luca with her husband Mike Comrie and since the toddler started walking she has been left tired trying to keep up.

Feedings, diaper changes, sleep deprivation and raging hormones are some of the stressful things that the 25-year-old actress has endured in the last year since giving birth to her first child, son Luca, 13 months.

But earlier in day Hilary Duff was just an average mother as she took her son Luca on a play date.

The proud mother couldn't stop smiling as Luca passed over one of babyhood's biggest stepping stones - his very first haircut.

The end is near, at least for these series, as the 2012-13 wraps.
