When it comes to vintage rock 'n' roll, the popularity of few bands has crossed generations and weathered the years like that of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

I really miss Sub Pop 's Loser days. Back before Seattle had a Sound , the Northwest had a severely caustic, nihilistic musical aesthetic, egged on by punks who had beards when they didn't give a fuck about shaving.

Despite almost being hobbled right out of the gate by a pedestrian cover that makes it look like a quickie "Sounds of Seattle" chord book and weirdly giganto-sized text on the inside, you really have to look beyond the presentation here, for content is king.

In one year, Creedence Clearwater Revival created more albums and hit singles than most acts do over the course of an entire career.
