Gale Storm, who was born Josephine Cottle and attended the now-defunct San Jacinto High School once located at Caroline and Holman in downtown Houston, earned her stage name and went off to Los Angeles to become the star of TV's My Little Margie and The Gale Storm Show after winning producer Jesse Lasky's "Gateway to Hollywood" contest in 1939.
It did not take long for Thursday night's town clerk debate to devolve into an angry session of professional and personal attacks.

LOS ANGELES a ' Gale Storm, whose wholesome appearance and perky personality made her one of early television's biggest stars on "My Little Margie" and "The Gale Storm Show," has died at age 87.
