This is mainly for the "Old Timers" out in blogland. What a week this has been. Hidden among the hoopla of Governor Sanford and the recent deaths of Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, Marylyn Chambers and Ed McMann....Gale Storm has also passed.

Houstona s Storm led American Idol life in a 30s

Gale Storm, who was born Josephine Cottle and attended the now-defunct San Jacinto High School once located at Caroline and Holman in downtown Houston, earned her stage name and went off to Los Angeles to become the star of TV's My Little Margie and The Gale Storm Show after winning producer Jesse Lasky's "Gateway to Hollywood" contest in 1939.
