I hated this movie when I first saw it. The mannered acting , the disorienting soundtrack, the scorching cinematography, and the big, big story about one of the crazy men who built this country into the mess it is now , all of this had only one thing to say to me: The director, Paul Thomas Anderson, had way too much confidence in his own talent.
