A few more days before the premiere of season 9 of Smallville and we're all ready to throw ourselves before the great Zod.

The CW television drama Smallville recently signed actor Callum Blue to portray the evil General Zod in the series' upcoming Season 9. The character of Zod has appeared on Smallville before, but only as a spirit inhabiting another body.

Smallville has cast another Big Bad for next season -- General Zod! British actor Callum Blue , best known for Dead Like Me and The Tudors, will be taking the general's role.

Smallville finally has its Zod, and it's British actor Callum Blue. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Blue, who played Mason on the fantastic series Dead Like Me , will take on the much-anticipated role of General Zod as a series regular for Smallville season 9. He will first appear in the season premiere September 25.

General Zod was a DC Comics character, and made an appearance in the 1980 film Superman II , where he was played by Terence Stamp.

Superman will be facing General Zod. Brit Callum Blue has joined CW's "Smallville" as a regular.
