ALL in all I think this is Green Day's best album yet. It seems the complexity of their music has matured over the years and this album is a perfect example of that.

Coming off their 2004 effort, American Idiot , Green Day had a mighty high bar to clear with their new record, 21st-Century Breakdown .

If you can, forget the fact that Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown," released today, is supposed to be a rock opera styled in much the same vein as 2004's blockbuster smash "American Idiot." Because honestly, that's the weakest part of the album.

Green Day, whose excellent record 21st Century Breakdown is released today, erupted in the late 1980s from a grotty punk club called 924 Gilman Street in the East Bay, across the water from San Francisco.
