DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE heightens the signature DOA fighting style with the inclusion of new modes from DOA5 Plus, dynamic new stages, and deadly new fighters to deliver the ultimate in fighting entertainment.

Tecmo Koei is trying its hand with a free-to-play alternative version of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate , subtitled Core Fighters , in addition to the full retail game.

Japanese publisher Tecmo Koei is set to experiment with free-to-play elements on console, as its upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate fighter will be available both as a full retail game, and a free download.

That falls on a Tuesday and thus is likely a US-region date, which indicates a possible EU launch on Friday, September 6. Publisher Tecmo Koei confirmed the date in a list of its planned E3 line-up games , which also appears to confirm Western releases for Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland and Toukiden on PS Vita .

Ever since Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate was announced earlier this month Tecmo Koei has gradually lifted the lid on the new characters, stages and costumes we can look forward to in this enhanced edition of last year's fighting game.

Joining Ninja Gaiden's Momiji as new characters in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate are Ein and Jacky Bryant, the latter from the Virtua Fighter series.
