Scientists Say Bush Administration Suppressed Research

Full story: snafu-ed.blogspot.com

A new survey by the Pew Research center focuses on science. While the survey says Americans like science, it also confirms, by asking scientists themselves, what we already knew: the Bush Administration suppressed any results scientific research which did not comform to its own narrow POV.

You are correct. They do suck.
And so do both parties.

Dems = Repubs
Repubs = Dems

Both are out to only make money for themselves. They have proven many times that they DO NOT care about the U.S. taxpayer.

"Bad intelligence", eh?
Nobody ever acclaimed Bush as a smart guy.
The Bush administration was staunchly opposed to science, civil liberties, Constitutional guarantees and compliance with the law.

So much for the touted Harvard / Yale / Scull & Crossbones Society - textbook knowledge rarely surpasses common sense...

Just more proof that the last 8 years of the Bush Administration with republicans in control of Congress for 6 of those years really set this nation back in so many ways. I give thanks everyday that Americans came out in record numbers to landslide Obama into the White House. President Obama has a lot of heavy lifting to do to pull this country out of the muck that the republicans sank us into.

So funny how everyone is jumping on board some obscure blog with an anecdotal poll and that is being generous. But then, you clowns never really needed much prodding to march the moron step anyway. In view of the fact that your beloved leaders are never ones to miss a good witch hunt, why did THEY not alert you?

Basically you have two options when it comes to science and politics.

A politician's major goal is to convince as many people as possible that it's philosophies are more logical than any others. They have "the knowledge" and should therefore be the leader of the followers.

A scientist has one required goal, and is also subject to extreme peer review. They can make all the theories and predictions they like, at the end of the day it must be physically proven correct by repeatable testing to carry any real weight.

For a scientist to achieve their little bit of immortality, they must be right. A politicians job may even be harder, they have to make people believe they are right.

Trust my kid to the rhetoric of the Al Gores and Rush Limbaughs of this country? Or the guy that has to actually prove what they claim. I think it would be to our advantage to find a reasonable balance between the two, at the least.

No, he did not do the same thing. The EPA did not 'suppress' it, and it wasn't science in the first place.

Once again absolute BS.....when it comes to the Corporation vs. the Individual, the Democrats tend to side with the individual, and Republicans side with the Corporation.

We see this play out time and time again

Health Care
Minimum Wage
the Environment

Republicans also consistantly protect the largest most powerful interest group in the country.....the wealthy.

Seems as if modern scientists have one major goal...secure govt. funding by providing study results that fit what a political party wants to hear to promote the interests of their support groups. Yet another example of how everything works worse in a direct proportion as to how much government is involved in it.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Aries

How you feel about your values and how your associates feel may not mesh too well today; avoid conversations about morals and scruples. Of course, you could be a politician or a religious worker, in which case you may be tiring of your own rhetoric. It's hard to be good all the time, especially when everyone else seems to be having a jolly time being bad.
