It's time for change. Forget the tax breaks for oil companies. Lets give that money to cheap, eco friendly renewable energies and equipment and quit funding the jihad.

It's not just the oil companies, it's the stockholders.

And they're all sleeping well at night, while we are busting our butts looking for ways to make ends meet.

The oil companies have to pay OPEC for the crude. The price is determined by speculators and supply is controlled by how much oil OPEC decides to pump to keep the demand/supply ratio high.

No, just support the dollar with sound federal fiscal policy.

When you take Almighty God out of our country and out of our schools AND OUT OF OUR CHURCHES this is what you get. In case all of you haven't noticed the parallel, as all of you have taken God out of our country Satan has taken OVER OUR COUNTRY. Sodom and Gomorrah hasn't got anything on you people. All you preachers better take heed Satan probably has a better chance of getting into heaven than you do. As the Bible says it would have been better that you had not entered your mother's womb.

Yes,$4.00 are here to stay. But i dont blame the tree huggers. As our military is sitting on top of the 2nd largest oil reserves in the entire world in Iraq.

And Bush thought he could just go ask "our friends" the Saudi's to by pass on the profits associated with seeing oil prices shoot through the roof.

Alot of help Bush did when he destablized the oil supply by invading Iraq, and making all others that much more powerful.

I can't believe the US Government is so inept? We need leadership from someone that has a working knowledge of ECONOMICS (simple supply & demand)not pandering to oil corporations. We do not need the SCARECROW running the show, we need The LION. At least his brain is on his chest not being sat on while at Pennsylvania Avenue, D.C. address. Brains are in short supply in Washington these days and it's becoming very clear that our ways{United States} are tiresome and boring. Bush is bad for AMERICA. I can't wait for January 9, 2009. Good bye George.

So does everyone have to believe in order to make gas prices come down, or just a majority?

The US economy is like a train that is rushing towards a cliff to its irreversible destruction when oil prices are used by US worst Islamic and socialistic enemies to destroy US economy and defeat our US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Clearly, it is now more than ever before a matter of US national security emergency and time is running out for President Bush to declare emergency and release the American people from the 'grip' of a vicious anti-American Senators and Representatives that made the American people slaves of the oil-rich radical Islamic regimes of the Middle East that use the American money to finance Islamic terrorists attacks against our US troops.
President Bush was right to call for immediate starting of emergency domestic drilling of US oil resources and increasing the output from existing oil, gas, oil shale, coal, tar and hydrates that can be effectively and cleanly converted to gasoline at less than $2 a gallon for few hundreds of years to come.
It is a national security emergency when US economy is deteriorating rapidly to bankrupcy and when US radical Islamic terrorist regimes are using hundreds of billions of our dollars to bankrupt the American military, the American corporations and the American people and to weaken our US troops at time of war.
It is time for President Bush, McCain and GOP senators and Reps to stand up for America at this tough time for the American people and fight vigorously to free the American people from vicious America hating socialists, liberals, and environmentalists that control the US Congress and let American companies use the enormous amounts of oil resources in US for their own needs.

We have plenty of oil in Alaska, North Dakota, Texas, Gulf of Mexico, off the continental shelf on both coasts, and many other places. We sit on the world's largest shale reserve to the tune of 2 TRILLION barrels in the Rockies alone. Most of this land is owned by the federal government and is listed by them as off limits to resourse development.

The next time a vote comes up to drill anywhere domestically, take notice of who votes against it and think of them as you fill your tank or heat your home. Then think of them on election day and see to it they don't return to Washington.

You are most likely a shareholder too. If you have a pension plan, 401k, or any mutual fund you also own shares of big oil. The problem is that our consumption has gone up while our output has gone down. Throw in a falling dollar and the two most populous nations driving alot of cars and you have $130 oil.

Unfortunately, The oil shale of Colorado will never reach our gas tanks in any meaningful way. The oil is embedded in rock, and has to be extracted. Too expensive to produce, and we could in no way produce enough to meet our current demands.

I am for drilling in Alaska. However. people are going to be very disappointed with the amount of recoverable oil that the ANWR field can produce.
(Hint: It isn't like Saudi Arabia or anywhere near)

I have the opinion, based off the facts as I know them to be, that we as nation are facing a serious crisis with respect to energy. This crisis has the potential cause major shifts in the way that we live. The longer we wait, the more painful it will be to tackle the realities of our energy circumstance.

very true - paying on our national debt instead of this continuing borrowing fest - borrowing money to pay interest on the debt isn't sound financial policy - paying the debt is.
