97% of 4,000 US casualties in Iraq came after 'Mission Accomplished'
At least 97 percent of the deaths occurred after US President George W. Bush announced the end of "major combat" in Iraq on May 1, 2003, as the military became caught between a raging anti-American insurgency and brutal sectarian strife unleashed since the toppling of Saddam.

Thats because we create more and more terrorists there when we make citizens angry for invading THEIR country and killing over 1 million of THEIR family members (not Alqaeda) and continue to occupy THEIR country. There was no Alqaeda in Iraq before we illegally invaded it, there was no weapons of mass destruction, and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

Bush said that the "major combat" was over May 1, 2003. Nearly five years after that date it seems we are as deeply entrenched in the war as ever, and there is still no foreseeable end in sight.
