I'm all for closing the Gitmo facility. Right after we shoot all the prisoners in it. And the dialogue with Iran should consist of cut it out, or expect airstrikes. What is it with elderly statesmen, that they all turn into Neville Chamberlain?

has any person running for president believe in or know about the " North American Union"?

Gitmo has done nothing for the US other than ruin its reputation in the world as a democratic and haebeus corpus loving society. As for Iran, dialogue is the only solution. I mean, give Iran's Ahmedinajad a break. He came to the United States to begin dialogue and what did Americans do, we laughed at him and continued to call him a terrorist. Everything President Bush has done has failed so would it be awful to hear the advice of others.

Only a dozen detainees at Gitmo have been charged with any crime. You don't shoot the innocent, dimbulb.

Why is it these people never say these things when they are in power? It's always years later when they retire, Powell has just as much blame on his shoulders than anyone else, he should have spoken up at the time, instead of making the case 'lying' for his boss in the run up to the war. Sorry but I have no respect for men like this. Does he have a book out by any chance?

If it wasn't for the fact that Colin Powell was the mouth piece behind the lies of Iraqi WMD I wouldn't know where to place him politically.

There's a liberal right wing, which I think he belongs to, but they get dominated byt he neo cons who are the truly evil force behind right wing politics. They are extremists and evey much as deadly as the terroists they point to, to take the spotlight off them. They like working behind the scenes in the dark, as Cheney and Rumsfield have shown. Behind closed doors shredding emails.

To be associated with these overt agents of the shadow world is bad enough, but Powell resigning,unneccesarily speaks volumes.
either his conscience was bothered (which I support) or he was pushed aside for not being extreme enough.

Rumsfeld had to bite the bullet but there were so many goal she achieved to dismantle democracy and secure state powers over the masses that I felt sure he was in no way miffed.

Everything Rumsfeld got passed into law, including Patriot act 2, is binding and will never be rescinded.

I believe the reason these men enjoy being American over Russian is that they took the challenge of dismantling democracy in the greatest democracy in the world...and loving it.

but you gotta admit the strangest thing.

Russia invaded Afghanistan (very brutally) and the US financed the Mahujadeen successfully against the invasion, but its the US the Middle East labels as the Great Satan. Grossly unfair in any mans language.

I expect I'll be educated as to the reasons why in this thread.

I suggest that all the liberals be shipped to gitmo before closing it. Then give the place back to Cuba and let the Castros deal with the whiney libs. The libs will be happy though because they will be in socialist heaven. Even Micheal Moore liked it there
