San Jose Earthquakes to play Honduran club in exhibition

The Earthquakes will play host to C.D.S. Vida of Honduras on Oct. 14 in their final international friendly of the year, the club announced Monday. The game will be sandwiched between an Oct. 11 trip to Real Salt Lake and the final regular season home game Oct. 18 against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Timbers can certainly look at the referees and say they missed calls on both goals by the Rapids. The handball call on center back Liam Ridgewell in the box that resulted in the Rapids converting a game-tying penalty kick, the ball looked as if it hit Ridgewell's chest, not arm, on video replays.

New England Revolution scored twice inside two minutes to rally for a 2-1 over the Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer on Saturday night. Kelyn Rowe then Lee Nguyen struck two minutes later for New England to complete the rapid turnaround after trailing 1-0 from an early strike by Calum Mallace.

Timbers tie Rapids 2-2

After Dwayne De Rosario's point-blank equalizer with a minute remaining rescued the Reds a point here in southwest Chicago on Saturday night, Gilberto appeared to grab a winner minutes later when he muscled through Chicago's Bakary Soumare to score from close range in stoppage time.
