EDITORIAL: Gun show sales need fairness

Full story: DNJ.com

Some Tennesseans might not want to hear it, but New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has a legitimate concern when it comes to the shady sale of weapons at gun shows.

So, stop gun shows and the problem is solved.

I don't think it's 'fair' that NY has more crime than ND. I don't think it's 'fair' Al Gore is worth $100 million dollars or Pelosi gets a new jet, or Arizona has warm weather in the winter. If I'm not mistaken, there is a law saying using a firearm in a crime or killing someone is against the law. Making another one will be like making it a law it can't be cold in ND in the winter.

Some New Yorkers won't like to hear it, but some New Yorkers are profiting from crime and corruption, and Bloomberg can't do anything about it. So instead he chooses to distract the voters of NYC by blaming others in far off states.

Wow isn't this so convenient for Bloomberg, these revelations, and good timing to boot. If Bloomberg has a problem with the freedoms other states refuse to strip from their citizens then he can go spit...

What Mayor Blooming-Idiot doesn't seem to realize is that less than 1% (0.7% actually) of guns recovered in crimes have ever been traced back to gun shows (stats from either the DOJ or the FBI, can't remember which). Gun shows are NOT the problem.

What Mayor Bloomberg should do is keep his "agents" in New York, put them out on the streets of NYC buying "illegal" guns from New York thugs and then arresting those thugs. He could save his tax payers a lot of air fair money and reduce NYC's crime at the same time.

But then he would actually have to do something. And, as was stated above, if he starts cracking down on crime in NYC he will be likely stepping on the toes of his well-to-do constituents that are profiting from the crime in HIS town.

What does fairness have to do with anything? Its not fair when someone buys the last M1A1 right before I was going to get it. Its not fair that its getting hard to find .223 ammo. Its not fair that I get robbed for over 60% of my income by a government we are supposed to "trust". Its not fair that the government thinks everyone these days is a suspected terrorist. If there is one thing anyone should take away from their time spent on this planet, its that life is not fair.

He's trying to make it seem like he is helping the his local crime situation. What he's really doing is going after his competition.

Actually, Bloomberg is the typical ultra rich political hack that relishes in the publicity he can get by pushing gun control. It is like his pal Chuck Schumer, neither cares about what happens to John Q Public their main concern is getting in front of the camera or seeing their name and picture in print.

The greatest public speaking event that the good people of New York could hope for is Bloomberg's concession speech.

The ultra rich, Al Gore types, have theirs so they need to justify their wealth (guilt) for some reason by 'helping' the poor criminals, those who try to make their money by taking it. They are the ones that need help - they probably had a bad teacher, or maybe their mom made them help out. It had to SOMEONE else's fault. It must let the Feinstein's, Schemers and Pelosi's sleep at night and let them feel good about being so wealthy while being so liberal. It's way easier than giving some of your fortune away!
