Son: Chappaquiddick made Kennedy remedy failings

Full story: KSL-TV Salt Lake City

Ted Kennedy will be remembered as the greatest Senator this nation has ever had. His life work has more than made up for that tragedy in Chappaquiddick. Whether we know it or not; and whether many on here want to admit it or not, be you Democrat, Independent or republican; the late Senator Ted Kennedy legislative achievements in some way shape or form has had a positive effect on the lives of every single American.

Again you show how clueless, you truly are. That tragedy as you describe would have resulted in anyone else being sent to prison for 10 years or so. He killed her, plain and simple.

Question for you; if Ted Kennedy had so much faith in the state run health care, why did he go to Duke to receive treatment for his cancer instead of using the Massachusetts health care system?

Wait a minute here. Remedy his failings?

The failings that I can think of right of that are related to this tragety are his abuse of alcohol and his womanizing. I don't remember him giving up either of them.
I could add failure to take responsibility for his actions, but he did no jail time (two months suspended sentence).

Perhaps he was just reffering to driving without a valid license. He probably got a licence later so he would not make the same mistake.

Yeah! Is that why he was "Always Making Jokes about Chappaquiddick" according to his friend?

Puh-lease! When he drove the car into the river, he didn't even try to save her! He simply swam to shore and walked HOME after catching the Ferry!

What a steaming Pile!

I suppose you were an eyewitness? You don't know what he did or didn't do. Did you ever do anything that you were ashamed of or know that you made a foolish and wrong decision. You forget that he had just lost his third brother and obviously had a drinking problem and a very F'd up life. A lot of people have made mistakes and they haven't ALL been liberals.

He routinely does stuff here he ought to be ashamed of ... but isn't in the slightest .... probably a sociopath.

Have you read any of his bragging about that church shooting of Dr. Tiller yet? A real eye opener.

He drove his car OFF a bridge into a pond/channel with a current. Think about that concept he was om the road and the bridge was out. Not only did he try, but 2 other men tried to get her out but it required a diver. You only make yourself look stupid when you don't know the basic facts. His only "crime" was not reporting the accident/leaving the scene. She was found in the location of an air pocket so she was alive why didn't she escape herself?

How can you equate doing "something you are ashamed of" with being drunk, driving off a road and leaving another human being in the car to die? Mistakes; so, because his brothers were killed it was ok for him to leave her in the water to die?

You are sick, there is no excuse for what Kennedy did. He left her there to die, went home and didn't report it til the next day. There are no excuses for that behavior.

Many of us have had tragic things happen in our lives, doesn't mean we get a free pass on killing someone.

How about that little problem he got into in Florida involving his sicko nephew Willie Smith. How many mistakes does a person get a pass on. Some role model for the kiddies in his family. How about his cheating in college that was long before his brothers departing. Without his families money he would have been in jail.

Revisionist history bull. Ted Kennedy left her there to die, plain and simple. If his last name had not been Kennedy, he would have spent a long time in jail for his actions.

Typical though, blame the victim for her own death.

Gargan and party co-host Paul Markham then returned to the waterway with Kennedy to try to rescue Kopechne. Both of the other men also tried to dive into the water and rescue Kopechne multiple times. When their efforts to rescue Kopechne failed, Kennedy testified, Gargan and Markham drove with Kennedy to the ferry landing, both insisting multiple times that the accident had to be reported to the authorities.

Kennedy most certainly bears fault for some aspects of the accident, as he himself admitted, but he didn't murder her - that's just politics.

WHAT A BUNCH OF CROCK !!!

Justice has been served by the death of Ted Kennedy.
Good riddance !

Kennedy was responsible for the homicide of Mary Jo Kopechne. The coward saved his own skin and let the young lady drown in his car after he drove it into the river. He was drunk and stank like a skunk.

Like all Kennedys, Ted was a philanderer and an alcoholic - he tried to lay every female in his reach.

It is evident that you are an extreme left winger.

Kennedy had been paving the way toward socialism.

Kennedy praised Castro and Hugo Chavez while condemming Ronald Reagan. Ted Kennedy was not the democrat that his brother, John, was.

President John Kennedy was a patriot - Ted Kennedy was a socialist.

Ted Kennedy should have fried for the homicide of Mary Jo Kopechne.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Capricorn

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
