Poland Received Less Gas Than Requested from Gazprom

Poland's gas pipeline operator Gaz-System said the country received about 20 million cubic metres of natural gas on Friday from the eastern direction, less than requested by the state-controlled importer PGNiG. "The increased requests of PGNiG are still not being met," Gaz-System's spokeswoman Malgorzata Polkowska said on Saturday.

Californians against Higher Taxes released the following information July 10: "Business Community Applauds Legislators' Leadership for Requesting Delay of Costly Hidden Gas Tax." This is a regulation that will put transportation fuels under the cap-and-trade program.

Garamendi introduces bill to block federal funds for twin tunnels proposal

Congressman John Garamendi, D-Solano, this week joined Congressmen Jerry McNerney, D-Antioch, and Ami Bera, D-Sacramento, in introducing legislation that would prohibit Fiscal Year 2015 federal funds from being used for California's Bay Delta Conservation Plan , which includes what Garamendi calls "the twin tunnels boondoggle." "California's woefully inadequate water infrastructure definitely needs more federal investment, but the twin tunnels are a boondoggle and poor use of taxpayer dollars.

On Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Hamburg's SMM Marine trade fair, MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a new license agreement with QMD, a member of the CSIC Group together with Dalian Marine Diesel Co., Ltd. and Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. In the process, QMD became MAN Diesel & Turbo's 12th Chinese licensee. QMD can boast of a modern facility dedicated to the production of large, two-stroke engines in NE China.

Rep. John Garamendi, D-Solano, will host Service Academy Night, an informational event, at 6 p.m. in the Vacaville High School theater, 100 W. Monte Vista Ave. Representatives from the five academies - Military, Air Force, Naval, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine - will offer information and answer questions for students and families on the nomination process, service academy life, and obligations after graduation, among other things. The most common nomination is the congressional, but there are others, including presidential, the latter attained typically by active-duty military members who attend a service academy preparatory school after high school.

California asks Congress to accelerate plan establishing reserve fund for fighting wildfires

With federal funds for fighting wildfires running low, officials in California on Thursday called on Congress to move forward on a stalled plan to set up an emergency reserve fund for battling the extreme blazes anticipated this fall. The call by U.S. Representative John Garamendi, a Democrat whose district near Sacramento includes parts of three national forests, the state's top firefighter and others comes days after the U.S. Forest Service said it would have to dip into money meant for fire prevention and other activities in order to have enough on hand to fight fires.
