Full story: Freshnews

Today, on the heels of announcing jointly with Governor Mitch Daniels, before thousands of Americans, law enforcement officials, and local, state, and federal authorities, that it would locate its operation in Connersville, Indiana at a shuttered automotive plant, Carbon Motors Corporation filed its application to secure a loan with U.S. Department ...

Exactly...which is a shame because the people of Connersville now have their hopes built up.

It's ironic.... the people complaining about government spending are the first to really have a cow if their particular program or pet project gets cut. LOL.

The people making asses of themselves at these town hall meetings over healthcare reform, should be made to give their social security numbers as they leave. Make sure they don't ever get medicare. We can divide their part up for the rest of us who can't afford healthcare.

death panels? dumb butts. I have been an insurance agent, and ya know what...most health policies have end of life counseling coverage.

If it were not for the free clinic, I wouldn't even be able to have any kind of healthcare.

sorry, got sidetracked (sort of) all that government spending..LOL.

Now..as for the loan? They had to name the site before they could apply. willaim rogers must have missed that part of the story in the paper. I agree it sounds like getting the cart before the horse, but it's just another step in the process. your right on newsjunkie, if Carbon doesn't take it, someone will.

Perhaps ridge isn't aware we small town folk listen on cavuto. He may need to explain what government spending he is complaining about. I bet it isn't the millions Carbon just applied for. LOL.

Peace....

Agree with you in some areas, Karma but not all. People protesting about government issues is nothing new. Seems to me I recall more than yelling and it wasn't at Town Hall open forum meetings. Some serious pie throwing took place when a protester differed in issues from the speaker. Don't recall any high level government employee denouncing that.

Whether you agree or not, we in this country have a right to voice our opinion. These asses, as you refer to them, are voicing, not throwing pies, or bricks, or any actions which could be misinterpreted as threatening...they do not want government healthcare forced on everyone. The private sector cannot compete against an entity which does not have to make a profit, i.e. the government.

As far as complaining about government spending is related to what government is using our tax dollars for. As far as I know cuts have not occured here but stimulus programs which are questionable.

People are asking about programs, such as Social Security, healthcare, etc. It doesn't mean you want them eliminated but not accepted in their present state.

Democrats are not used to their feet being held to the fire and seem to be uncomfortable in that position. As they tell Sarah Palin, you've put yourself out there - accept it.

I see your point on some issues. I agree, voicing ones' opinion is something we should all be able to do.

I was refering to the ones screaming and not really offering any solutions. Just yelling to disrupt. Nothing wrong with a good debate, but that can't take place if one side won't allow the other to talk over the issues.

As for the pie throwing, I do recall that. It was only one person though, not a group at every gathering. Friedman got the pie in his face at Brown from an enviromentalist. I don't agree with that action either.

it would be nice to have a conversation instead of a confrontation over alot of issues we are facing right now.

Peace.

Obama is only pushing for Clinton's healthcare program he couldn't get through when he was Prez.

Carbon has applied for a loan with nothing to show for experience or collateral. What if one of us tried that? Yeh, right.

Peace my azz! They can all go f**k themselves!

Then perhaps not calling peoples asses might be a good way to begin. There are always those in any group who have no communication skills and begin to yell. No one really listens to them. Seems to me the moderator in such a circumstance should take control, not by yelling back, but by listening and asking for a quieter tone. Taking off your mike and walking out doesn't foster dialog but rudeness. Answering your cell phone in the middle of a question when you are a rep from Congress doesn't give one a lot of credibility too.

I agree, Karma - if both sides would act like adults instead of ill mannered children would be much better. Part of the problem is the length and the need to rush through a bill which the apponets have not read. It is difficult to debat an issue which you are not completely comfortable and knowledgable in.

All forgive any Engish comp errors. I have only had a 1/2 cup of coffee and the older I get my spelling seems to stink.

Take care! BTW, Karma - you are a nice soul and I always admire your insight.

They had to announce a location for their plant before filing for the loan.

Filing for the loan is just another step towards actually locating in Connersville. If, and it most probably will, be approved, it will be a good thing and get us closer to gettin' down to business.
