This is what Paterson really needs (Change)I was so fed up with the way the politicians such as Torres got himself elected only because Marty Barnes was facing his court process, which I know if it were not for that Torres would never have been mayor of Paterson. One of the things he did that made me dislike him was to give himself a raise and using a street tactic to get it passed. The tactic was to give himself the raise as a package deal where the council would also get raises, and also the council was the approving authority. I watched on TV as countless residents, walked up to the podium to object to the raises, only to be belittled by then councilman Rooney, the same person that had said no to everything Marty Barnes proposed, was there saying yes to giving Joey Torres the I believe 90,000 dollar raise, and the council got a large chunk also, for a part time job, which most use for personal gain only, I underline most, because there are some good people in the council too. I did like Councilman Morris the best, and I also liked Jeffries too. Both would have been much better as mayor than Joey Torres. Look back at what else Joey Torres accomplished in his years in office other than giving himself a raise? There still is no movie theater, and take a look at the Falls, and Hinchcliffe Stadium. I am so happy that at least now Paterson has serious candidates wanting to run for office, now maybe you can rid yourself of Torres. I would definitely applaud Sayegh and wish him the best, although I left Paterson for a better life with less taxes and corruption, Paterson is where I was born and lived for 48 years, so it is a city I will always love and cherish. I will be as happy to know you have a new mayor as I was to know Rooney was finally out of the council. Good luck to all the candidates.
