Rhondda Cynon Taff's mayor in hospital after being taken ill
Councillor John Watts, of Ystrad, was taken ill over the weekend, and the Mayor's Civic Sunday service on September 14 has been cancelled Councillor John Watts, who is RCT's "first citizen" and represents Ystrad in the Rhondda, fell ill over the weekend, with the deputy mayor taking over his role for the time being. No details of his condition have been released.

Senior RCT council officials will meet local residents to discuss A 70m budget crisis

We're looking for volunteers to help us in Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil to set up and run exercises classes for local older people. The classes are called LIFT, - Low Impact Functional Training, and offer simple chair-based or standing exercises to music in an easy and fun way.
