A boat rescue crew went into action at Horley after a dog became stranded on an island in an icy lake.

The collision happened on the motorway between the Gatwick and M25 junctions on Wednesday at about 8.05pm. A Surrey Police spokesman said the collision involved a grey BMW car and the driver suffered fatal injuries as a result.

East Surrey Ramblers will hold a 10.5-mile linear walk along the Green Belt Way from Wray Lane in Reigate, to Oxted, taking in a pub lunch at White Hill, on Wednesday, February 1, meeting before 9.40am at Redhill bus station to use public transport, taking the 420/460 bus to Reigate Hill, and returning by the 410 bus or train from Oxted.

A KEY road into Reigate was closed for almost two hours on Tuesday afternoon following a crash between a car and a tanker lorry.

The pair, understood to be a mother and daughter, were both treated for stab wounds following the attack in Cockshot Road at around 10.15am. One woman suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries while the other had a minor injury.
