I was saddened to hear that the council proposed to turn a beautiful and much used piece of land into allotments. The area, between Dunnikier Estate and Dunnikier Golf Course is used by many residents for walkng their dogs and visiting the golf course. Turning this into allotments is a big mistake as it would deprive the local inhabitants of a beautiful stretch for walking. Also, since it is not on a main road, vandalism could be a problem. A much better site would be the field to the south of the proposed area, and vehicle access could be provided from the road from Dunnikier Way, past the High School.
