No one likes Mace Windu. It's noon at Secret Stash and Mike Zapcic is behind the counter fielding calls while Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith plays on the television overhead.

That's where writer, director and producer Kevin Smith comes in. Smith is the owner of Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash - a comic book shop in Red Bank, N.J., and now the basis for the AMC unscripted series "Comic Book Men" . "They were looking for geek programming," Smith told the Herald from Manhattan.

He brought geekdom to the masses with his films "Clerks" and "Mallrats." Now Kevin Smith turns to TV with AMC's Comic Book Men , a reality show set at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, the comics shop Smith owns in Red Bank, New Jersey.

With his new AMC reality series Comic Book Men , filmmaker Kevin Smith is bringing those conversations to your living room, showcasing a slice of nerd life not often seen on TV.

Kevin Smith remembers growing up watching shows like "Dallas" filled with impossibly pretty people who looked nothing like him and his friends.

An irony of Kevin Smith's career is that he is the "Silent Bob" of the Gen X slacker-movie duo Jay and Silent Bob.

They started by hanging around as convenience store clerks, then they became Mallrats in Eden Prairie, Minn., and finally they struck back in Hollywood taking on bloggers and Internet slander along the way.

Fans of actor-writer-director-podcaster-humorist Kevin Smith take notice. The guy behind "Clerks," Dogma" and the recent "Red State" will have a one night only event broadcast live from the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto into Regal Mayfaire cinema where the audience will sit in on a live interactive Q&A featuring Smith, Jason Mewes and others.

Kevin Smith begins an interview like nobody else. But then, he does everything like nobody else, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

"Never in a million years did I imagine I'd have my friends on TV." So said an animated Kevin Smith, draped in his signature blue and orange hockey jersey.

He's the executive producer of this backstage drama about mounting a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe.

First, "Mad Men" will launch as a two-hour premiere on March 25. That's two! Never happened before on this show.
