Another fire, yet our mayor and city council think a way to save money is to buy smaller fire trucks that are good for medical calls, but can't put out a fire.

I totally agree..the squads are totally useless for anything besides minor medical problems. They carry no firefighting gear at all. I will agree that they save wear and tear on the larger engines when responding to medical calls but TFD is REPLACING engines with these squads instead of supplementing the engines with them. At this rate 1 large apt fire will exhaust TFD's total capability. Like you said..leave it to queen taylor to agtee to this.

I live two buildings over from the fire and was there this morning as the Tulsa fire department worked the fire. My hat's off to TFD! They did an excellent job and kept a very bad situation from getting much worse. Mr. Davis is right, the guy is a complete drunk and was smoking in bed. He didn't wake up till he saw flames at the foot of his bed! He should be charged with property destruction, at minimum!

And everyone needs to remember that they squad program was the Fire Chief's brilliant idea. He is the one, along with his upper management suckees that came up with this idea. He is also the reason that we have promoted a number of chiefs into higher positions and have extra extra chiefs. TFD is extremely top heavy no matter how you look at it. He will get up and do his country good old boy lawyer act and every one will believe his reasons for promoting all these chiefs. Look at how many chiefs this goofball has promoted since Feb when he started a hiring and promotional freeze. Most of the chiefs that he promoted, you couldn't melt and pour into a fire. Old school, honor, pride, balls and firefighting by the TFD management team is a thing of the past. remember what goes around comes around. We don't need a bunch of chiefs promoted, we just need one GOOD chief.

I have no respect for adults who smoke, the older they are the "dumber" they look.

Most toss their cigs out on the street, reek of the stink, teeth yellow and no self control.

What a brilliant idea, inhaling smoke.

So, you do have respect for kids that smoke? Do you work for Phillip-Morris?

My friend lives there, she said that the smoker was black from head to toe because of the smoke. What does he do? Bums a smoke off on of the other residents. IDIOT.

Sue him if you didn't have renters insurance. He is responsible for your loss. You may not get much but maybe he will learn and not do this to the next place he moves into. I'm sorry that you lost everything, that sucks.

Thank you..We managed to save some furniture that was in the front room..since the fire started in his bedroom, that is where we got it the worst. we didnt have renters insurance, and had only been there 2 months...we havent decided what we are doing yet, but im with you..he should take care of it!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
