U.S. official: Arab states offer to launch airstrikes on Islamic State

Several Arab nations have offered to launch airstrikes on the Islamic State militant group, lending an important boost to U.S efforts to knit a broad coalition against the advancing extremists, according to a U.S. official. The nations have offered their help to the Iraqis, who are struggling to halt the group in the country's north and west, or directly to U.S. military officials, the American official said.

Sindh govt ready to face flash-flood conditions: CM

KARACHI: Seven-member parliamentary delegation of Azad Jammu and Kashmir visiting Sindh discussed matters of mutual interest with Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah.Discussing the current flood situation at different parts of the country including Sindh, Qiam said the irrigation experts have roughly estimated about 700,000 cusec of floodwater would pass through River Indus into Arabian Sea.Sindh government was ready to face the flood flow even more than estimated by the experts as strict instructions have been issued to irrigation department and other stakeholders to ensure proper arrangements to tackle with high flood situation.He said we have to look after 1,380 miles long River Indus embankments and all Pakistan Peoples Party's member-parliament and leaders within their respective jurisdictions would ensure extensive monitoring of the embankments and extend their full support to the ... Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approved PC-1 for Polio Emergency Plan Friday with the total cost of US$326 million for a period of 3 and half years that was pending for the last two years. In an especially convened meeting the Ecnec approved the polio eradication project that has a total capital cost of $ 326.838 million with Islamic Development Bank loan , World Bank loan , JICA grant and Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation grant .
