Sania Mirza nets two crores in two months from Telangana government

Having received a crore to become Telangana's brand ambassador recently, the tennis ace has been rewarded again by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for winning the US Open mixed doubles title Hyderabad: India's tennis ace Sania Mirza has earned a cool Rs 2 crore from the Telangana government within a short span of less than two months. On Thursday, Sania Mirza was rewarded with Rs 1 crore by the newly-formed state's chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for winning the US Open mixed doubles title in New York last weekend.

Top-seeded Sania Mirza and Bruno Soares win US Open mixed doubles title over Spears-Gonzalez

Top-seeded Sania Mirza of India and Bruno Soares of Brazil won the U.S. Open mixed doubles title Friday, beating American Abigail Spears and Mexico's Santiago Gonzalez 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 tiebreak. Mirza and Soares had each been successful mixed doubles players, so Mirza said during the trophy presentation that she wasn't sure why it took them this long to pair up.
