Why would a news organization print clearly false and biased research - secretly paid for by the Liquor, Tobbacco, and National Drug companies?

Because they pay them!

They can't, because there hasn't been any person who died SOLELY from using marijuana. Using marijuana with alcohol or another drug, yes. Solely from marijuana... no.

And really, most of those deaths from other drugs.... only happen because the doses are so freaking VARYING from street dealer to street dealer.
If they would LEGALIZE all drugs and regulate them.... I would say that nearly 99% of all drug overdose deaths and 'hookings' could be prevented.

You're too logical Chris. The American way is to try and control everything everybody does. And when it can't be done, we just try harder. The desire to punish people is greater than the desire to end the drug problem.

Who was the study funded by?

That's right kiddies;

The Drug Companies who pay kickbacks to doctors and congressman and know that most of the garbage they are pushing on Americans has side effects that we won't know about for a good 20-50 years.

Marijuana has a long list of medicinal qualities and after thousands of years of use, we know that you can't die from it alone. Can't say the same about todays synthetic experimental drugs can you?

Good luck guinea pigs. Hope your peckers don't fall off if you use too much Viagra.

I have observed my own 40 something son who's been using marijuana since he was 14 years old, or so he says. He was a motivated kid full of energy, president of his high senior class, at one point, made good grades and all of a sudden couldn't make it through college, couldn't make it through the service, couldn't hold down jobs or even be a halfway decent parent or husband.
Too interested in laying around on his azz smoking dope and kizzing EVERYTHING he's ever had, off because all he wanted was the dope.

Marijuana was the "tip of the iceberg" as he went on to DO THEM ALL! Yes, he's been in a lot of trouble and messed up his life and he doesn't seem to care.
He sticks with marijuana now--pretty much.
Why? Because the other stuff is too expensive and he can't afford it.
I watched a good kid go to POT, literally, over marijuana!

Yes, it seems "blame the parents" is the thing to do. And believe me, I HAVE blamed myself plenty.
What is a parent to do when they gave their kids a firm foundation of right and wrong. What a kid does when he leaves home to go out with friends, a parent doesn't REALLY know and kids are going to do what they want to when they get away from mom & dad. Also, what about "peer pressure."
I did the absolute best I could and NEVER had an idea that my child was smoking marijuana at age 14. He was raised with values. At some point, I can no longer blame myself when he CHOSE to do these things--he knew they were illegal and not something his parents would approve of.
He couldn't make it through college or the service
nor any other kind of comittment. There has to be a place where I'm not to blame?
Believe me, it's been a darned hard road.
Parents are not ALWAYS to blame, especially in the 80's when he was growing up. The lousy music,
"sex and drugs and rock n roll." That seemed to be the order of the day/times.

You seem judgemental in your post.
Until you've been in my shoes--it's not FAIR to judge!!!

I'm not self righteous enough to judge your son or your parenting skills. We all do our best, right?

I just thought you might be interested to know that Dr's., Lawyers, Politicians, Judges, CPA's and on and on and on smoke marijuana. They can afford stuff that is better but you are missing the point. Most say it's something they do to relax or to help them sleep. There is a far more dangerous drug called alcohol that kills thousands of people every year.

Some smoke pot to self medicate and some actually use it as a legal med for treatment of various illnesses.

Talk to your son. Men do not open up easily but there may be something going on he can't or won't talk about but you can't blame his problems or lack of ambition on pot.
