Teleportation and forcefields possible within decades, says Professor Michio Kaku

Teleportation and forcefields could become scientific realities within decades, and time travel will also be possible in the future, according to one of the world's leading physicists.

I dont understand. How could time travel be a class 2 impossibilty and telling the future a class 3 impossibility? Couldnt you just travel into the future and come back to the present and say this or that will take place in the future? That then would make telling the future a class 2 impossibiliy wouldnt it?

You wouldn't have PREcognition then. It would simply be normal cognition in your frame of reference. To others it would seem like precognition, but that is only because they have a different frame of reference as you, the main variable being time.(in this reference time is still a scalar quantity, it just has a group of OR inequalities describing its location on the scale.)

In a quote from the movie Men In Black

"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow." (The last part is still unproven, but who knows?)

Do you think that scientists in the 1920's were thinking about supercomputers? No. Each new technology builds upon the next, continuing to increase our knowledge. Think about each invention like this.
A car is a complex machine. It is made up of numerous simple machines... levers, screws, wheels, etc. Each of those inventions were not created with the car in the end design.
Time gives us new inventions, which increase our knowledge, which in turn gives us new inventions.

I do however have a problem with faster than the speed of light idea. I am no physicist, but I'm pretty sure there is a law against that with very good backing behind it.

If time travel is going to be possible in the future, how come we haven't been visited by time travelers yet?... or maybe we have and just don't know... or maybe one of you is from the future... or maybe... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

When people see ufo's it's human's from the future coming back in time, Thats what in goverment has been hiding for all this time. The distance from the next solar system in or galaxie is just to vast for even a super advanced race to concer (we are they) and they are us.

If time travel were possible, we could prevent the accidental deaths of our loved ones by going back to one day before the accident...and warning them about what's going to happen...or does fate take them anyway??...Or will that mess with the space/time continuem as mentioned in Star Trek.
Anyone got an answer to that one? Or a guess??

Sorry, time and aging are uni-directional. The best you can do is aproach zero. Time can never be reversed so enjoy it while you can.

The way things are going, I don't think i want to see the future, but I wouldn't mind traveling backward in time.

I wonder if we will still have to stand in line and be searched by the TSA every time we try to get teleported. Will our baggage still get lost or combined with our bodies ? I think my wife already has extra baggage combined to her backside. I hope they don't take my boots off as usual.

Theory from one of the topic physists (sp?) is that time travel could only be done backwards to the point of when the machine that was built for it was turned on.(referencing a show on the history channel from a few weeks ago. I can't remember the title of the show.) So, going by that theory, time travelers couldn't come and visit us if the machine hasn't been built and can visit us since this time is from before the machine is built.

Maybe yes, and maybe no. It's when we say "never" that makes it an impossible feat.

Being that men are not on the edge of time, or made of anything but particles, the future men have already come back to the now and manipulated politics, and the star we call the sun is dying, this is how retarded you are in truth; these prognostications are already fortold!
