Olympic bronze medallist Jonny Brownlee claimed his third World Triathlon Series win of the season to put himself in pole position to succeed his brother Alistair as world champion.

Olympic bronze medalist Jonathan Brownlee of Great Britain was impressive in his first race since the 2012 London Olympics, taking the win at today's ITU World Triathlon Series race in Stockholm.

Brownlee pulled away from silver medal winner Javier Gomez of Spain halfway through the 10-kilometer run to finish in 1 hour, 46 minutes, 25 seconds.

Alistair Brownlee became the first Briton to win a medal in an Olympic triathlon when he took gold with an emphatic front-running display around Hyde Park in central London on Tuesday.
