I have often had the same question. Why go into business if you can't even afford to pay your help minimum wage. Question for the waiters out there, what do they pay a waiter at the normal restaurant?

when I was a waitress, we got paid $2.43 an hour...but that was about 5 yrs ago...not sure what it is now...

it is the labor board not the resturant .the pay for a waitress about 9 years ago was 2.15 an hour but if you didnt make minimum wage then your employee had to make up the difference. this is the law not the resturants fault. if you think about it add the minimum wage and tips and a waitress would make more money then a lot of people. i always averaged 7 to 10 dollars an hour.good service is the key to success
