I graduated from McLaughlin Public High School. I know her mother from when I was growing up on the reservation. I sat down at a table and visited with Ms. Mellette and her mother at United Tribes Pow-wow. It was a pleasure to listen to her and hear her speak so eloquently and confidently. She was respectful and articulate. I then recognized her mother who I had not seen in years. The residents of McLaughlin and the entire Standing Rock Nation should be very proud to have such a beautiful young woman representing her family and community. Congratulations Jennifer! What a huge accomplishment in your life. I am sure one of many to come as you mature and grow. Enjoy the time that you reign as Miss Indian Nations.
