Mark Penn, the pollster and senior strategist for Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential bid, left the campaign Sunday after it was disclosed he met with representatives of the Colombian government to help promote a free trade agreement Clinton opposes.

'After the events of the last few days, Mark Penn has asked to give up his role as chief strategist of the Clinton Campaign,' campaign manager Maggie Williams said in a statement released Sunday. Study: Obesity, diabetes rates rising faster in NYC than U.S.

New York City's obesity and diabetes rates are rising faster than in the rest of the country, a city health department study said.

New York's obesity and diabetes rates each jumped by 17 percent between 2002 and 2004, according to the city Department of Health and Hygiene study. The national obesity rate rose by 6 percent during the same time period, while the diabetes rate held steady nationally at 7 percent, according to the study, published in this month's issue of the journal Preventing Chronic Disease. Rapper Remy Ma Plans NYC Jail Nuptials

Rapper Remy Ma isn't letting jail derail her wedding plans. The Grammy-nominated artist aims to marry her fiance, fellow rapper Papoose, at the city's Rikers Island jail while she awaits her sentencing for shooting a friend she suspected of stealing $3,000, lawyer Ivan Fisher said.

'They're much in love,' Fisher said. 'They're very committed to each other, and they had intended to marry one way or another.'
