Article, "The school has a policy stating only boys can wear tuxedos while girls wear gowns."

Does the school not permit girls to wear pants? 50 years ago that was not allowed.

What a bunch of idiots. Probably the same people that twenty years ago wouldn't let a black boy take a white firl to the prom, or vice wersa. They tried to get me to wear a dress for my yearbook photo, and I told them where to stick that. I wore a nice shirt and a pair of dress slacks, and got my hair cut high and tight. They tried to refuse to publish the photo, but backed down eventually, when they saw my Mother refused to force me to get another photo taken. When I went up to get my diploma, I put on a fake mustache and my classmates cheered. Boy was the principle po'd.
Good for that gal to stand up for her rights. This gestapo s*** has got to go.

OMG, this fight has been fought and LOST by school systems every time across the U.S.!

These people are supposed to be the 'educators', but when will THEY ever learn?

A similar thing happened here in Alabama (Scottsboro). It went to court and the girls won!

When will this ignorant prejudice stop?
Move along, nothing else here to see!

A town of sixteen-hundred people total? The graduating class couldn't be more than forty-five, and yet there is an honor roll, a band, and a soccer team? And they produce a yearbook? That is one busy lesbian! I predict her photo may not make it into the yearbook, but there should be a mural on the side of the building picturing her on a soccer field, playing her trumpet while defending the goal and reading a textbook, as her girlfriend looks on proudly.

our little hell-hole in MS just finally allowed a mixed prom..just has to be held some where OTHER than the school. My daughter married a black man, she has mixed children. Her husband is a very hard working man, very nice, considerate, and great father figure. A few years ago, there would never have been able to marry due to the color of their skin. Do I like that she has choosen such a difficult road to go down, NO, however, she is an adult, its her choice. My grandkids are the most beautiful children I have ever seen, and yes I am bias, but I get told that by EVERYONE, that they are gorgous. Plus they are stright A students, so very proud that way too. The school tried to tell mydaughter also that she had to wear a dress to graduation, well she arrived in slacks, they said get a skirt on, so she had a skirt, she gave the appearance of going to change, but I told her to just roll up her pant legs until right before going to sit down and then put them down. And she did, was I right to do that,I dont know, but the school folks were PO'ed and I dont care...come on MS get into this century for God's sake!

If God wanted you to be a boy you would be born a boy, you were born a girl live with want God made you and be happy. I support the Wesson Attendant Center in Wesson,Ms for not publishing this picture. I think want D Smith did was wrong.

Is there some veiled insult hiding in this comment? I should leap from a bridge? Become a dancer? Change my name to Vicky? I'm living in a fairy tale, or a fairy's tail, perhaps? Shucks.
