Missouri House repeals income tax increase on Kansans who work in Missouri.
JEFFERSON CITY | Without a dissenting vote, the Missouri House approved legislation Tuesday to repeal the income tax increase on Kansas residents who work in Missouri.
The proposal, sponsored by Democratic Rep. Paul LeVota of Independence, repeals a law enacted last year that prevents out-of-state residents who work in Missouri from deducting property taxes paid to another state.
That provision would increase income taxes by an average of $191 for a resident of Johnson County, Kan., who works in Missouri and itemizes deductions. Read more
